I found Twitch around the same time and started watching the top runners of the day-mostly Zoasty, who became my favorite Super Metroid speedrunner and Twitch streamer. I remember thinking that a race of the game didn't sound that entertaining, but I was wrong! Just like in the early days, I was immediately hooked and so amazed by the runners and how similarly but differently they each played the game. Shortly after that I found out about GamesDoneQuick and started watching. In 2013 I found updated runs on SpeedDemosArchive. I would casually run both games at least once or twice a year for many years, but took some time off for a few years, between 2010-2014 or so. I managed to pull off some of the stuff in Metroid Prime, but was far more successful with Super Metroid. I started casually trying to copy the tricks and strats I saw in those speedruns-to see how quickly I could get through the games myself. In real time, the runs were over an hour). I instantly fell in love with both, completely amazed at how skilled the players were, and blown away by the fact that they could collect all the items in "under an hour" (tracked using the in-game timer. There were some for Metroid Prime, and some for Super Metroid. The first speedruns I ever saw were posted on SpeedDemosArchive back in the early 2000s. Start comparing and see the results for yourself. This item: Liquid Death Mountain Water, 16.9 oz. Get the water test results from companies who make other waters you drink. There is plenty of information out there. There are so many things changing after ditching other popular water products that I'm not going to keep going.īasically do some research into reverse osmosis water compared to clean water sources not stripped of minerals. Hydration is much better with proper minerals in the water. We have both noticed the benefits in many areas. This infinitely recyclable can of stone-cold mountain water came straight from the see more. I myself, and my lady, have been drinking this product for a couple months now since I found out many horror stories about other bottled water products and even community tap water. The point of Liquid Death and the absence of plastic in their product is your health. They don't squeeze out all of the minerals like these other companies who are filtering contaminated water and reselling it to you as purified drinking water! #Liquid death water fullLiquid Death has that earthy, almost salty flavor because it is full of naturally occurring minerals from the source they claim to collect the water in the mountains. And the ph levels of most of them are acidic and actually as bad for your teeth and organs as soda. But you are not getting the natural minerals you need from most waters out there. Sometimes companies may "infuse" their product after filtering with SOME minerals. If you do some reading about the water most people buy or drink, you'll find some scary shit! REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER IS BAD!!! Demineralized water being consumed is like drinking distilled water! It's bad for you. #Liquid death water plusPlus aluminum is better than plastic for any consumable product to be contained in, no microplastics entering our bodies. The source of the water and it's mineral content and ph levels are what is important. It's not about just the look of the can and it being JUST water. #Liquid death water driverWe are by far the most sustainable option for packaged water, which is a big driver for why people want to buy from us.Everyone I see reviewing Liquid Death have not done their research on why a product like this is important. The partnership highlights Live Nation and Liquid Death’s shared commitment to sustainability and ending single-use plastic water bottles at events DEATHTOPLASTIC LOS ANGELES, /PRNewswire/ Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV), the world’s leading live entertainment company, announced today that it has selected Liquid Death, the fast-growing beverage brand packaging water. There are more vegans at a heavy-metal show than Taylor Swift show. "If you think about it, it makes sense - everything metal and punk is extreme," Cessario said. Liquid Death has that earthy, almost salty flavor because it is full of naturally occurring minerals from the source they claim to collect the water in the mountains. Liquid Death plans to donate $0.05 from every can sold to help clean up plastic garbage from the ocean. Aluminum cans are more environmentally friendly than boxed or bottled water, and in Cessario's view they look cooler as well. What makes this appealing for such a large group is that it feels like a niche thing."Īside from Liquid Death's marketing, Cessario believes the punk community will also appreciate the brand's eco-conscious stance. "At first we knew the easiest crowd for us is anyone into heavy metal, punk rock, and that kind of world because they immediately get the joke and get the humor and have never seen anything like it. Since coffee is 98 water, why not add some DEATH to it in the form of Liquid Death Mountain Water Yeah, we mean brew your coffee with this thirst murdering. "Initially some of our thinking was, we wanted to take more inspiration from the beer category because one thing we know in marketing is if you want younger people to want something, you have to market to people in their 20s because teens want the thing they can't have," Cessario said. #Potplayer audio driversIf the drivers aren't working correctly, or you're using a cable that's too long, it's quite possible that your computer "thinks" your DAC doesn't support the higher sample rates because the USB connection negotiations didn't finish properly. #Potplayer audio driverIt's also possible that you have a driver issue going on. (It could be that the player you're using is set to resample - many offer the option. If this has happened, then your player program may be automatically resampling what it plays to accommodate what it believes is a limitation of your DAC. If this information exchange didn't complete properly, which can happen if you have driver or cable issues, then the computer may "think" that your DAC only supports 44k. You should double check the output settings on your player.Ģ) When you connect a USB device to your computer, the two devices exchange information about what sample rates they both support. Many players can be manually configured to resample certain sample rates (this is intended to allow them to play high sample rate files through DACs that don't support them). This can happen for several reasons:ġ) Your player could be set to do so. The most likely choice is that your player program is resampling the files. I would also assume that the display on the DAC itself is probably correct. #Potplayer audio windowsIf you're using WASAPI, then WINDOWS should not be resampling the files you're playing. (A specific ASIO driver may also include the option to resample "on the way through".) In general, ASIO should play files at their native sample rate, and Kernel Streaming will NOT do so. The fact that something hasn't been proven to be true in no way proves that it is UNTRUE - that's just flawed logic. (I've seen plenty of tests that showed that, under certain circumstances, the majority of a certain group of subjects didn't notice a specific difference, and I've seen tests that proved that specific people who believed they were able to hear specific differences under specific conditions were in fact unable to do so, but I've never seen a comprehensive test anywhere near compelling enough to be worthy of being claimed to prove the general case.) To be totally truthful, I've never seen ANY of what I would call "well conducted rigorous testing" on that subject at all. (This is in direct contrast to converting a FLAC file to a WAV, then back to a FLAC, as many times as you like - and ending up with a file that IS identical to the original.) What you end up with won't be bit-for-bit the same as the original then either. Likewise, start with any 16/44 file you like, convert it to 24/96 using your favorite program, then convert it back to 16/44 using the same program. Even beyond that, most of the higher end programs offer several different choices of which filter slope and type to use, so, even with the same program, you can produce an infinite number of close-but-not-identical results. Start with a 24/96 file (you pick it) re-sample it to 16/44 using any two audio programs (you pick them) and do a bit comparison between the results. and there do seem to be quite a few people, including myself, who do claim to hear differences - at least in some specific situations.) (Well, let's say that the fact that differences exist can be proven easily enough. No - it is, in fact, technically correct. Basically, this will play high sample rate files at their proper sample rate, and up-sample those recorded at a lower sample rate (which, while it can't add information, and so can't actually improve them, generally won't do much damage). If you prefer not to do that, the next easiest thing is to set your default output sample rate to either 24/96 or 24/192 and just leave it there. (Incidentally, WASAPI mode will take care of matching the sample rate the bit depth generally takes care of itself in most cases.) If you really want the best sound quality when playing high-res music, the easiest thing is to switch to a program that does support WASAPI mode. The catch is that not all programs support WASAPI mode, including most of the ones that come with Windows, (although all "real audiophile music players" do). Windows has a special audio mode called WASAPI and, when you use WASAPI mode, each file will automatically be played back at its native sample rate. By default, Windows expects you to set a particular sample rate, and plays everything at that sample rate - and setting that sample rate to match the files you're playing would allow you to play them back without conversion. |
